haha, my tattoo on fuckyeahtattoos

fuckyeahtattoos:

Got this done at Frith Street Tattoo in London at the end of April 2012. It was done by Stefano C.

The tattoo is inspired by M.C. Escher’s hands, one of my favourite graphic artists of all times, however I loved the concept more than the piece in this case, so I decided to change it and add as much colour to it as possible. The concept which I love is the idea of creating and recreating yourself endlessly, but being a “creative” myself I wanted to add a touch of colour and brightness to it. I also wanted the hands to be ‘unisex’ and old school (not pencil sketched).

Stefano did an amazing job with it. He listened carefully and did everything I asked for and more. This is his style though, I am not sure I would pick him for another style of tattoos, but for this I would recommend him as one of the best that I have seen in London. He has great attention to detail, is talented and makes you feel very comfortable (it was my first tattoo and it took close to 3 hours - comfort is everything!).

Ronald Kurniawan graduated with honors from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Inspired by ideograms, syllables, letterforms, beasts and heroic landscapes, he slowly but surely continues to create a visual language where the wilderness and civilization could merge happily together. With the belief that the sublime and nuclear age could coexist, he paints romantic environments and breaks the quiet scene with juxtaposed imagery taking the shape of icons and letterforms.”
